About This Pub
Originally built in 1762, the Golden Lion was most recently rebuilt in 1900, helping to restore the streets of St James's to their former glory. Our stained glass windows and 'theatre bar' upstairs pay homage to the history of our pub, which was once frequented by Napoleon II, Lille Langtry and Oscar Wilde. Now, we are a family-friendly, dog-friendly pub with an outdoor seating area โ perfect for watching the world go by with a pint of your favourite from our bar. A stone's throw from St James's Park, Buckingham Palace and Spencer House, our pub is popular amongst locals and tourists alike. Pop in and enjoy our bar games or host your next function here, but beware of our barmaid ghost who was murdered by a former landlady. We also accept coaches and have paid street parking outside of the pub.
